A lot of people have experience this at least once in their career. You're excited to start working for a company, hopes look up, and over time, you begin dread walking through the door. Be it a bad boss, culture, co-workers or just not doing work that you enjoy anymore, it's a soul sucking experience to go in day in and day out to a place that causes you stress at just the thought of it.
What have you done in this position? Continue going to that job regardless of how muck you couldn't stand being there? Looking for a new job? Pretended you're working like the chap in the picture above? According to Jason Fieber at Dividend Mantra, treat that bad job as training.
What the article ultimately boils down to is to change the mindset you have and adjust it so you can springboard into something you're going to enjoy. Jason's story is one similar to many other bloggers and independent workers. They were at a job they couldn't stand anymore, and looking for a way out. Sometimes you need a lot of motivation like this to push you into a position to consider opportunities you either didn't think of, or didn't think you were ready for.
In Jason's case, his job as a Service Advisor at auto dealerships. His experience there was so stressful for him, he finally felt the motivation to get into writing. He wrote a couple of books and started the blog. Not only did those offer new opportunities for Jason, that also increased his determination at the job he hated, which allowed him to earn more money and even get promoted!
When things are going well, try to change your perspective and find something different to get involved in. It could open up new opportunities, give you a new found sense of purpose and could get the motivation to excel at the job you hated.
Have any of you had this type of experience? Any tips you want to share for those who may be going through it now? Let us know in the comments below, and as always, stay safe goblins.
