That's right, back to school time is already approaching, just a few days away from August and then that final month of summer goes away.  Time to start considering which gadgets, gizmos, and computers kids are going to need to get up and running for this new school year of learning.  Today we're going to approach our shopping adventure with good, better, and best.

Laptops

Lenovo G50 - The Good

Lenovo is a brand that has taken the world by storm, known for making both quality and quantity systems that last for a good length of time.  In the lower end affordable price range, the G50 is a fantastic choice for a decent laptop.  It houses an intel i3-4030U processor, a decent processor for regular office style production software uses.  It also includes a 500GB 5400RPM HDD with 6GB of memory, to allow for a good amount of storage, as well as a little bit more multi tasking capabilities.  Now with this particular model, it does weigh a little over 4 lbs. and has a 15.6" screen, so it may prove to be a little bit more cumbersome than that of a smaller laptop.

ASUS Zenbook UX305FA - The Better

Asus-Zenbook-goblinbyte.jpgThe Asus Zenbook is a fantastic line of laptops, always focusing on quality, and this here is no exception.  This Zenbook is sporting an intel Core M-5Y10, which is almost on par with the Intel Core i5 processors, but has a lower power consumption to increase battery life.  Not only that, but the 256GB Solid State hard drive guarantee's fast boot times, quick access to projects and documents.  To top it all off it hosts a 13.3" screen with a total weight of only 2.6 lbs. its light weight, compact, and powerful.  By having such economically conscious parts inside, you can expect the battery to last up to 8 hours of use.

Apple MacBook MJY32LL/A 12-Inch - The Best

macbook-goblinbyte.jpgApple MacBooks are always known for their quality and their power, this macbook is by no means an exception to that rule.  Housing a very powerful intel M-series processor, 256GB of on board flash storage, guarantee's the greatest performance available.  Continuing on with the quality, this Macbook also has a 12" retina display, which renders a resolution of 2304-by-1440.  With the unique Apple proprietary operating system, speed is rarely an issue, as well as perpetual add-ons or viruses are less likely on this platform.  All around weighing only a mere 2 pounds, being execessively slim, crazy high resolution, and a powerful workhorse.  This Macbook would be fantastic for any student headed back to school this fall.  The unibody design that is universally known among macbook's is still just as stable and beautiful as it was when it was first introduced.

Conclusion

Of these three mighty contenders, Apple is usually known for their stand out designs, quality construction, and overall stability.  Our Asus Zenbook isn't far behind though, the parts used are almost identical, but the operating system and build quality between these two is where it varies, the screen is a little larger, and the weight barely inches ahead by 9 ounces.  The Asus Zenbook, and Apple Macbook are two solid competitors, but in terms of stability the Mac still takes the cake.  As for our Lenovo, for the student or parent, on a budget, it is still a fair option, it won't be as portable, nor will it be as quick, but in terms of overall stability, Lenovo knows how to hold their own.
