RAID Drive with Flash Drives

Have you ever thought of setting up a RAID drive at home for storing your personal files?  RAIDs are a great way to provide security and redundancy to data and are a basic requirement in enterprise hardware setups.  RAID isn't all that common on the consumer side unless it's with a pre-setup NAS (network attached storage) device.  Have you ever thought of setting up a RAID device with USB drives?

The iBookGuy decided to try to setup a RAID device on his MacOS computer and the results are not too surprising, though, not the most practical.  Then again, how many of us in our free time have developed un-practical projects with our left over tech anyway?  How many of you will go out and do this now?  If you do, make sure to let us know!  Stay safe goblins!

  1. That's pretty darn cool. And yeah, super-unpractical. But pretty righteous none the less.
